What is the difference/are the differences between PTFE and TEFLON?

Teflon is a brand name for a polymeric material called polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which was manufactured in 1938 by Roy J. Plunkett at DuPont. Therefore, it is spelled TEFLON. In order to avoid any confusion, however, we at SILCOFA have chosen to use both descriptions for our website, namely Teflon and PTFE.
